Project mNET (Mobilizing National Educator Talent) is an innovative, nontraditional national teacher preparation program helping individuals attain full state certification as a core academic teacher in high need, hard-to-staff school districts. Project mNET teachers serve for at least three years in either a P-12 public school district, an independent, or charter school in one of 14 partner locations: Kansas, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.
Led by The Ohio State University as a part of a federal Department of Education Transition to Teaching grant, this consortium’s diverse partners include nine colleges/universities with education, mathematics, science, and engineering programs; eight state departments of education; 58 local educational agencies; and five non-profit organizations that collaboratively contribute to mNET’s scope of work.
Project mNet in the District of Columbia:
Educational Solutions, LLC serves at the site manager for the District of Columbia portion of the mNET project. As the site manager, Educational Solutions, LLC is responsible for coordinating with participating universities (The Catholic University of America, The George Washington University, American University, University of the District of Columbia, and Trinity Washington University), local educational agencies (District of Columbia Public Schools, Eagle Academy Public Charter School, Center City Public Charter School, Bridges Public Charter School, Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School, Education Strengthens Families Public Charter School, Maya Angelou Public Charter School, Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School, Perry Street Prep Public Charter School, Mundo Verde Public Charter School, D.C. Bilingual Public Charter School, and Options Public Charter School), and other partners to recruit teachers.
If teachers meet program criteria, they can be eligible for up to $5000 towards pursuing certification (including funds for Master’s or certification programs, Praxis preparation courses, books, etc.). In addition, participating teachers and school leaders are given access to Ohio State’s innovative virtual learning community that includes eModules, eCoaching, content packages, and classroom management/assessment strategies.

|The Transition to Teaching Program is a federally funded grant that provides educators (who meet eligibility requirements) opportunities to attain full state licensure within three (3) years. This program is available to select D.C. Public & Public Charter Schools & is currently seeking candidates for its first cohort for school year 2012-2013.Individuals who meet program requirements will be eligible to receive a $5,000 stipend to use towards their certification or master’s coursework at one of the following institutes of higher education:
